RFL's CSR: Transforming Lives and the Planet
At RFL, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives revolve around four core pillars: Healthcare, Education, Community Development, and Environmental Sustainability. We are dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of our actions, with a long-term focus on benefiting the community.
Here are some of our notable projects:
'Pashe Achi Bangladesh': Launched during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, this program was designed to support vulnerable individuals and families. To date, we have provided assistance to nearly 500,000 families, including relief food, masks, sanitizers, and oxygen support.
'Ahar Hobe Shobar Ghore': This campaign primarily targeted middle-class families who were affected by the pandemic but faced social barriers in seeking direct assistance.
In addition to our COVID-19 response efforts, we have extended support to various institutions, including schools and defense organizations. To combat human trafficking, we have collaborated with Winrock International, providing relief and training to migrant workers.
We believe in a society that values both mental and physical health. In addition to the quality products that bring smiles to people's faces, we have taken a step further by ensuring that these products are consumed by a healthy nation. This commitment led us to establish two advanced, well-equipped hospitals: Sun Health Care Foundation and Amjad Khan Chowdhury Memorial Hospital.
We strongly advocate for the right to education for every child, working towards creating a community where all children have access to quality education. To make this vision a reality, we have initiated school construction projects in rural Bangladesh, with completed schools such as PRAN-RFL Public School in Habiganj and Ghorashal. Moreover, we provide financial support to various schools, offering scholarships, books, and essential resources. We also focus on enhancing the welfare of teachers and staff by working to improve their salaries. Our dedication is unwavering as we strive to shape a brighter and more promising future for children.
Environmental sustainability is a top priority at RFL, as we endeavor to create a sustainable green planet. To preserve and protect our precious Earth, we have implemented several green initiatives:
- Energy Conservation and Preservation
- Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) - We have established three ETPs to ensure safe factory operations.
- The 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) - Promoting responsible waste management.
- Tree Plantation - Contributing to afforestation and a healthier environment.
Furthermore, we've implemented waste disposal programs, community forestation initiatives to mitigate carbon dioxide emissions, and heat recovery boilers for efficient heat reuse during production. We've also transitioned to clean energy sources to reduce air pollution. Our offices and factories utilize daylight through skylight roofs and energy-efficient CFL bulbs to minimize power consumption.
